My pleasure !! Although I’m not much of a baker … I AM a passionate foodie with a sweet tooth!! I look forward to reading your stuff … ya never know, … maybe I’ll take a walk on the wild side and get acquainted with my oven … π
thanks for the fallow on MountianMama just wish I could have eatten some of that pit roasted hog… one of my favorite things in life is well cooked pork!
Thanks, Doug, for your visit to my place. I don’t often grind my own meat, but your tip about not cooking it in the process of grinding was most enlightening. I live in Shropshire, UK, where we have lots of venison and hill grazed sheep, and aren’t too far away from Welsh Black beef. Oh yes, and we have rare breed pork, which is the most delicious meat ever. You may just convert me to pork fat.
Oh yes … I’m sure you speak of the wonderful Berkshire hog. It’s not very common here (in Canada). The predominant breed for us is the Yorkshire.
THANKS for reading Tish π
Stay hungry !!
Great moose article Doug. Each autumn I think about getting my hunting license (had it when I was younger) and heading out to the wilds. You’ve convinced me- this year I may just do it, get ready for next hunting season! Best wishes. Dave
Glad you liked it David … hopefully you’re still a registered “hunter” with the Dept. of Natural Resources … if you’ve been away, as you say for a number of years, they (the DNR) may require you to take a “hunters safety course”. in order to re-establish your licence. If that’s the case, please let me know, … a good friend of mine teaches the course and can set you up. Stay hungry friend !! π
Thank you for following my blog. I am checking out your to learn more about you. My husband is a retired butcher himself. It appears we have a lot in common..

Thank you and welcome:)
I thought you and I were already followers of each other but I guess I was mistaken. I’m not really a religious man Mark but … when I read about your cancer struggles and your victories I was really struck with the finite limits to our lives and, how you have worked through the battle with this incidious disease is an inspiration. My wife and I had a scare with Melanoma a few years ago and it shook me to the core. Bless you my friend π
Thanks for following The Immortal Jukebox Doug . I hope you will enjoy plenty of entertaining writing and a wide variety of music. I usually post each week. I welcome your views and comments. Good luck with your blog. Regards Thom
